Established in 2008 as a division of the Devmark Property Group, Devmark Construction was originally responsible for managing all the group’s construction projects, focusing on the retirement housing sector. The company recently rebranded as DPG Construct, reflecting its evolution and growing reputation for building some of the Western Cape’s most sought-after commercial and residential properties.
Says Juvan Olivier, Commercial Director of DPG Construct: “With our experience as part of a family-owned group, we quickly expanded beyond the retirement housing sector. The rebrand was crucial to creating our own identity in this dynamic market. The industry is ready for a fresh face, and we believe DPG Construct is that face.”
The name DPG Construct draws from Devmark Property Group, while “Construct” offers a contemporary spin on the construction industry. “Our vision is to expand our services in the open market. Over the past 16 years, DPG Construct has established itself as a leader in residential developments, multi-storey buildings, steel structures, and refurbishment and restoration, solidifying our reputation in the Western Cape’s construction sector,” he adds.
As the trusted contractor for Devmark Property Group, DPG Construct has benefited from a consistent flow of projects driven by the Group’s successful developments. “While many construction companies faced challenges during the industry downturn from 2012 through post-COVID 2022, the Group’s development pipeline kept us stable and ensured steady turnover. This stability enabled us to grow and explore opportunities in the open market. We have the expertise to manage a wide range of construction projects, from RDP housing to hospitals and everything in between,” he says.
Recent projects include the Glenhaven Precinct in Bellville South (960 units), Toyota Malmesbury, The Plettenberg Manor (124 retirement units), Evergreen Phase 1, Val de Vie (81 homes), Klein D’Aria Estate (25 luxury homes), Helderberg Manor Frail Care Facility, The Beach House (luxury apartments), Montana warehouse (4 000m²) and Langebaan Manor (100 retirement homes).
